Partnerships to Uplift Communities—PUC Schools—is a non-profit charter school organization consisting of 14 public schools authorized by Los Angeles Unified School District. Our college preparatory education emphasizes academics, arts, and athletics in a culture that prepares students to succeed in college and give back to their communities.

Our 30-year salary schedule pays teachers 5% more, on average, than Los Angeles Unified School District.

Medical Benefits

Teachers who meet the years of service threshold are guaranteed a lifetime retirement benefit.

Clear Your Credential With Support From PUC Schools

PUC Schools offers a two-year, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support and professional learning for teachers who need to clear their credential. The vision of the PUC Schools Induction Program is to support and develop beginning teachers’ pedagogical habits of inquiry, practice & reflection, and to develop a growth mindset, as they become competent, reflective teachers capable of preparing all students for college success.

Hold a Preliminary Teaching Credential

Congratulations! You've received your preliminary credential, now it's time to clear it with induction.

In order to enroll in the PUC Induction Program and obtain your CA Clear Credential, you must possess a valid California PRELIMINARY Credential [Multiple Subject/Single Subject (SB 2042 Credential), or an Education Specialist Teaching Credential].

Get Paid, Job-Embedded Support From PUC Mentors

PUC Induction mentors support the growth of Induction mentees to become effective teachers through observation, feedback, coaching, and critical reflection. Your tuition costs will be reimbursed and you'll receive a full salary.

Learning and Engagement Coordinator

Learning and Engagement Coordinators leverage data to support priority student populations and subgroups to succeed academically and social-emotionally. These educators collaborate with school leadership to co-deliver professional development to teachers and school staff. 

Instructional Coach

Collaborate with teachers to improve the quality of their lessons and the quality of students' education at PUC Schools as an Instructional Coach. 

Dean of Academics and of Culture

Articulate a shared vision and mission for student achievement at PUC Schools, while you support teachers and school staff to create and sustain a college-going culture.

PUC Teacher Residency Program

Become a Teacher While Being Employed

The PUC Teacher Residency Program provides a year-long intensive course of work and study that successfully prepares graduates to teach in today’s diverse urban educational settings. Teacher Residents spend a full school year co-teaching with an experienced Teacher Mentor, attend weekly Seminars focused on bridging theory with practice, and complete credentialing courses at night or on weekends through our partnership with Loyola Marymount University.
